Jodi Picoult

I have been on a kick this summer. I am trying to read all of Jodi Picoult's books. My friend Jeanine got me started on her books last year. The first one I read was "Nineteen Minutes" Jodi really makes you think. If you are a reader check out her books, they are all great. This is the one I just finished. You can follow my reading on the right.

Plain Truth Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult

Week Recap!

Its Saturday morning early. I have been going to bed early and getting up early. This week has been crazy. I worked Mon, Tuse & Wed. I didn't do much Thursday. I cleaned house , did laundry and paid some bills. Yesterday Friday Pete and I rode around the land in the morning and Alexi came over in the afternoon. The wedding ideas are flowing. I can't believe how expensive everything is. She is talking about having about 265 people. The problem is the Libbrecht's and the Gilmore's have a very large family. They also have lots and lots of friends. I think they will have 7 groomsmen and bridesmaids. They haven't asked everyone yet. At first I wanted them to get married sooner but now I am glad we have a whole year to figure this all out. I am sure it will get a little more fun as time goes on. Just lots of logistics to figure out.

Wish me luck!!

She's Engaged!!!!

My little girl is engaged!!! We are so excited for her and Phil. They are perfectly matched and will have a great life together. Hang on here we go. Wedding plans have already started. I am sure by next year you will be sick of hearing about the wedding plans. This really is for my family who can't be here to see everything as it un folds.

Alexi & Phil at christmas time.

The ring!!! He took my first wedding ring and had a pendant made for Alexi. I updated my wedding rings many years ago. This will be a very nice keepsake for her.

More information to follow as things get planned.

Layla

My doggie grand daughter Layla is so so cute!! We had her for two nights while the kids were in Hawaii. She is a great dog. The only problem i have with her is she torments the cats. The funny part is they don't seem to mind.

This was in the morning. She was still in bed with Pete. I couldn't resist taking this picture. What a ham.

Ice Cream

The last day we were in New Hampshire we had to go to "Lone Oak". It is a great ice cream place. My dad used to take us there on the way home from camping when we were kids. Now I know it was because he really loved ice cream and it was right on the way home. You just had to stop.

Kayla holding both of our ice creams!!
Mike & Carol. No one really looked to great that day.
Me with the worlds largest ice cream. I got a small. Coffee ice cream of course!!!

Orchard!!

This Orchard plant was given to us when Pete's Mom passed away a few years ago from our friends Kenny & Jodi. It has taken some abuse from the cats and it still continues to bloom with the most beautiful flowers.

Wiley Coyote

This Coyote thinks he lives at my house. I guess I could have an outside dog.
This is his favorite place to rest.

Rudene's Birthday!!

Last month I went to bingo at my friend Rudene's house in Vista. It was her birthday and we brought a cake to share with everyone. I made Chicken Enchiladas for us for dinner. It was very good and always nice to spend time with friends. I even won $6.00 at Bingo

I am home!!

I can't believe I am finally home. These last few weeks have been a nightmare. I only took a very few pictures while I was gone. Every time I thought of it we all didn't look that great. I had bags under my eyes and just didn't feel much like taking any pictures. I have been texting my brother Mike and my sister Carol since I have been back. Everyone is feeling the same way. I personally have been feeling a little down and very tired.

Alexi & Phil are still gone to Hawaii. I watched Layla (the dog) for them for two nights while they are gone. Steve (phil's dad) has had her for the rest of the time. She is a great dog, but she just torments my cats.

I can't wait for them to get home next week.

Sad!!

Carol & I are still in New Hampshire. We are getting through the loss of our Dad. I have seen both of Pete's Parent's pass away and it really isn't the same when it is your own parent's. Even though I loved Pete's parents with all my heart.

I got here on Friday night at 2:00 in the morning. I got to my Dad's house on Saturday around 8:00 a.m. I am thankful Carol came in early on Friday. She got alot more time. I called for the Priest and he got his last rights. He didn't actually wake up until around 12;00. The Hospice nurse came at around 1:30 and we decided to move him to the Hospice facility. Five hours later he passed away.

This is a blessing, my Dad is no longer suffering. He had suffered for 7 1/2 years with Lung cancer, it had moved to his bones and other areas.

We are leaving here early in the morning. I will try to blog later on this week. I miss you all.
