A new blog friend!!!

I am so excited Amanda Sue has created a Blog spot. We tried real hard all weekend to get her to set one up. I just Love Amanda and I am so glad she is now blogging. I have so much fun blogging and looking at all my blog friends sites. I am beginning to believe all my friends do live in my computer. What a great weekend we had. I am sorry but I think you will be hearing about this for a long time.

Check out Amanda Sue and give her some love. It really helped me knowing someone was really listening to what I had to say when I first started blogging.

Her site is: http://www.mannasue.blogspot.com/

We had so much fun at Newport News SDV. I met some great new friends. All my friends do live in my computer and I got to spend time with some of them at SDV. Please check out Lisa's site. http://scrapfromtheheart.blogspot.com/

SDV!!

SDV was a blast. We stayed up on Friday night until 4:00 A.M. in the morning in the crop room. And Saturday night until 5:00 A.M. Wendy and Amanda did not get to bed until 6:30 on Saturday. We are down stairs no later than 9:00 A.M. every morning. It should be against the law to have so much fun. I am waiting to post any more pictures from here. My Mom's computer isn't working very well. If I can get a chance to use Wendy's I will post some more. We have at least one hundred photos. Lots to tak pictures of.

"A year in Review"

OK why are these loading side ways. They were taken side ways and turned. I have never had a problem with these types of photos before. Any ideas.

Here is what I decide to do with my " Year In Review" information. Sorry about the side ways pictures, but you get a idea. This fun to do because you can look back over the year.

My word box!!

One of the steps to begin journaling more was to create this word box.  As things are happening you can write down words describing the event or things that people say and keep them in this word box.  When it is time to do your scrapbook pages the words are already written down.  I have a hard time journaling on my perfect scrap book pages.

This was inspiring to me because I have been thinking about my Mother-In-Law a lot lately.  She passed away in September and I don't want to forget some of the things she used to say to me.  Or some of the things she has done.  I miss her very much.  I have thought about her death experience and I hope that when it is my time I can be as strong as she was.  The point is I don't want to forget anything about her life.  So I decide to write little bits and pieces down in my word box.

I have tried this already and it is a very cool concept.  I am doing my son's baby book at SDV this next weekend.  He is "21" years old.  I chose the pictures I am going to use.  I sat down and wrote a little bit about each set on an index card and put it with the photos.  Now when I get ready to scrap those pictures I will have the words already to go.  I will let you know how it turns out.

Just Words!!

As I was searching through my favorite blog spots finding out what is going on in my blog world.  I was thinking about how much blogging has enriched my life.  I can't wait to get my coffee and go on line in the mornings to see what is going on out there.

I am forever grateful for my sister Wendy for encouraging me to build my site.  I love hearing what everyone is doing on a daily basis and most of all I love sharing my life with everyone else.

A Great Big Thanks!!!!! to Wendy for sharing her computer friends with me.  I have learned so much & I have created many things & I have inspired a long the way!! My newest challenge is to try to write more.  I have found several sites that are inspiring and I have bought a few new books which I love.

This is my inspiration for today: (This was written by Sarah Markley)

At my conference this weekend, I listened to a writer and publisher from Africa, Lawrence Darmani, speak on the daily discipline of writing. He said that when he was a child they dug a well and that in order for the well to maintain freshness, one had to draw water regularly. When the people would draw water from the well daily, the water table would replenish the water automatically and the water would stay at the same level. It was as if the supply was endless, IF there was a daily harvest.

Writing is like this. In fact, any creative venture is like this.

If you capture the light and shadow with a camera, take photos. Everyday.

If it is music you make, create song. Everyday.

Whatever it is you create, do it and do it often.

I write, and I write each day. This daily discipline, the flexing of muscles, creates stronger ones and then creates a place in which inspiration can be born. It is replenished. The fresh coolness is maintained.

I don't want to allow the water to become old and stagnant. I feel compelled to draw from this well often and take part in this daily harvest of words.

Written by Sarah Markley

So if I want to be a writing fool!!! I must write everyday. This is my goal. I don't want to be a great writer. I just want to leave behind a few of my thoughts and record history through my word scrapbooks as well as picture scrapbooks.

Alexi gets a puppy!

Welcome Layla!!! There was a picture of Layla & Phil but it was taken sideways and I can't get it to load correctly. She will have to send me more.

She has been looking and looking for the right Boston Terrier. We have tried to tell her they are a lot work. Once Alexi makes her mind up about something there is no stopping her. She did all the research and looked and looked. She finally found Layla. She is 8 weeks old and very small. I can't wait to hear about Layla's first night home. I am jealous of her find. Good Luck Alexi & Phil.

Woo!! Hoo!!

5 More Days to Virginia.  To bad I have to work on Monday.  I don't know why I am I really don't get much done anyways.  I think people would like to get paid though.  I have to do two Payroll's while I am gone.  But that won't be bad.

I am having so much fun with Stacy Julian's Book.  "The Big Picture Scrapbooking" website also has a great class called. "No excuse journaling"  It has really help me to create a different style of journaling.  I am not very good at putting my thoughts down on paper.  It adapts Stacy Julian's style of organizing and gets you writing.  I just love it.  The best $10.00 I have spent lately.

I am getting packed for my trip. It is really hard to figure out what to take for this type vacation.  Everything weighs so much.  I sent "Fred" ahead for Wendy to use before I get there.  I think the other half of "Fred" is goint to stay home.  We will have to share at SDV.  Two pieces of "Fred" weighs 15 pounds.  Too much weight to be shipping back & forth.

Pictures from our morning walks!

This is a peach tree that is blooming in the grove area. Check out the weeds. They are getting pretty high. It is a big job to take care of the weeds when you have 40 acres. It is never ending.
This is a picture of the house looking up from the camp site area.

Monkey flowers grow wild here. They are all over.
This is Pete standing up against a huge rock on a high point on Ken's property.

I have been taking pictures when we walk in the mornings. Everything is now blooming. That is probably why I can't breath.

The Girls!!

I didn't take as many pictures as I had intended to of the girls.  We were too busy for photos and I got a Migraine on Saturday night.  They were amazing to have for the weekend.  These two are so well behaved and always a pleasure to be around.  They loved the cats.  Here they are with Lightening.  Even Sergi warmed up after awhile.  He was running and playing in the house.  I think he really liked having the company after he got use to them being here.  Nicole is "13" and Haley is "10".  I can't wait to see what beautiful young women they turn into.  They sure have a great start.  Their parents are doing a wonderful job in raising them.  Alexi and I both said how much we missed them after they were gone.  I can't for another sleep over. If Grandpa approves.

Sunset!!

This was the most beautiful sunset I have seen in a while.  We had these three or four days in a row.  It was amazing.  It looks like you can all most see heaven. Just another day at the Ranch. This is the best time of year right now for Sunrise & Sunsets. I do't know why but it is.
