Just A Few Thoughts for Saturday!!

I can't believe it is already Saturday!! I have had a hell week. But it did all end O.K. It is going to be a short weekend for me.

Monday: I get to work and our computer is still down the computer guy doesn't show up until 3:00 to start working on it. I had all day to get all my manual work done.

Tuesday: He doesn't come in at all had to help another customer that was probably screaming louder than me. Now I am all caught up with nothing to do. You have to be understanding and nice even though I am freaking out. I do want him to fix me. You are at the mercy of the computer guy. Those of you that know me know I hate that. I don't like for anyone to have that much control over me. I did have faith that it would get fixed just not on my time frame.

Wednesday: The computer guy gets in around 11:00 and starts working. If any of you have had computer problems know that everything takes at least two hours. He does what he can on Wednesday. I threaten my staff to stay at work until he gets finished for the night. I am still not sure what time he got done. Now I only work three days a week. Thursday and Friday I am usually off.

Thursday: Off to work to see what got done. When I get in my wonderful IT guy James is waiting for me. He needs to know what my personal password is. We are live. Now to check and make sure nothing got lost. It is all there!!! I have not had a computer since January 11, 2009. It was 19 days without any work put it. We do have a good manual system so everything was ready to get entered. I worked so hard on Thursday that my eyes were blurry and I was brain zapped by 4:00 p.m. We got the extra memory in as well today and James wants to put it in. I said I don't think so not today. I am having him wait until Monday to do that.

Friday: I woke up at 2:00 a.m. with a migraine. Not a good day. We left at 6:00 am for work. I made it down the mountain to town and then I had to throw up. Pete pulled over at the Pizza Hut and a lost the Chocolate Silk I had for breakfast. No coffee for me today. I was able to make it through the day. I didn't get as much as I wanted to get done, but it was worth the drive to get the rest of the billing done for the month. Did I mention it is also the end of the moth and nothing got billed for 19 days. Our month would not look too good if I didn't get that work done. Home by 3:00 today. All is well on Shogo Mountain. Zach came over last night and the boys worked on the dirt bike. I am always happy to see my son.

Saturday: I woke up at 1:00 am with a headache. I took one of my pills and slept until 6:30 am. I feel O.K. now and I am sure I will have a great day. I am getting my hair done at 9:30 am. I have to take Pete to get the Harley at the dealership in Temecula later today. Nothing else to do today. I need to clean my house for a house guest on Monday. Gary is coming to stay while his house is getting tented. Super bowl at the neighbors on Sunday.

Over all it has been a good week. I can't wait to get to work on Monday to start moving forward.

Scarfs!!

I made a few scarfs at Christmas time and they were very well received. So I decide to make a few more. I think there were 25 or more that I have made. I sent some to my Mom & Sisters and others. Here is a peak at what they look like:

These actually are getting sent for Patton & Jolie. I cut the pattern down for smaller kids. They are very fun to make and all the rage here in California. Even though it is rarely cold enough to wear them. We do anyways.

Christmas Card Pages!!

These are a few pages from my Christmas Card scrap book. I started doing this book after discovering that I have a lot of Christmas Cards that have photos on them and I love to see how everyone has changed every year.

This is the first page of my book!

Just some samples.  Sorry they are blurry.  I don't know what happened.

I keep them very simple.  The idea is to get the cards on 12x12 pages and stored in a book.  We look at the pictures every year at Christmas time.

Cute Card!

I got this cute card in the mail from Alexi. Wendy made her a card box for Christmas and she is now inspired to make cards.

We had fun with Layla a few weekends ago.  She is a sweet dog.

Sergie!!

Sergie loves to hide under things and in things.

He pulled these blankets off the chair and climbed under them.  He slept there for a long time.  I was laying on the floor very close to him and he didn't even move.  I think he thought he was hidden.
You can see Avi she thinks he is nuts.
This is the longest cat.  He looks like a panther he is so black.  This is one of his favorite places to lay during the day.

Burn baby Burn!!

Once a year we do a controlled burn. Zach has been working on the pile burning when he can. I don't like when they burn but it needs to be done. It is the only way to keep the clippings cleared. If we don't burn we have to chip the clippings. It is a fire hazard if we do nothing.

This pile will take 2 hours to settle down.  If you knock off the top of the pile it will flare up again.
You can see the hose is always close by.
It is a long process but I am happy to say we finally finished it all yesterday.  Until next year.

Cats and their grass!!

This is a cool product we recently found for our cats.  You buy this grass in a bag and plant the seeds in the dirt.  After a few days you get grass.  Our cats just love it.  It took them awhile to get used to it, but now I can't keep them away from it.
They will wait for you to pull the grass out by the roots and they will eat it out of your hands.
These two are very funny.  They definitely keep us entertained

Monday News!!

Not much going on here. My computer is still down and will probably be down for a few more days. It is pretty frustrating to not be able to get my work done. I have done some of it manually and will later have to enter it all into the computer. I just hope all my data is still available after they get the hardware part fixed.

I did have a great weekend. We had our party's on Saturday and that was fun. Sunday the kids (Alexi & Phil) were up from the night before. Pete and Phil went for a walk to the pond area. And we all rode around the land and the kids got some Avocados to take home. It was beautiful here on Sunday. I loved having Layla over. It is so cute to see her with the cats.

Today it is in the low 80's. I think it was 83 degrees in Orange County.

Friday!!

Not much was going on Friday. I did some laundry and picked up the house. The phone rang non stop. Everyone was working or out and about. The packing house guys stopped by. Ken came over. Zach was here.

Zach came by and he and his dad got some rocks from the granite pit to make a fireplace in his back yard. We have a metal barbecue and they just built a ring for it to sit on. He is having a big party tonight to celebrate the end of his winter break. They start school again on Monday.

Pete worked on the pond area. We had to replace the pipes that drain it. There was a tree the crushed the pipes and was causing all kinds of problems. He found the pipe and they will finish with that today.

Alexi & Phil & Layla will be up around 12:00 or so for Zach's party. We are watching Layla at our house tonight and Phil & Alexi will be staying here.

Pete and I are going to a Birthday Party for one of our friends here in Fallbrook. That should be fun. We will stop at Zach's for a little bit and then off to our party.

It should be a very nice day.

Computer problems!!!

Sometimes I just hate the fact that we are so dependent on computers. Like today!!! Our computers at work went out on Tuesday mid morning. The computer guy did not get to us until Wednesday at 11:00. After working on the network for 4 hours he tells us we need new hardware and some software updates. It is going to take 2 days to get it back up. I only work 3 days a week and 1 1/2 of those days I had no computer.

We do have a good computer person and he found all the data and is confident that we can get it fixed. Now it is just about finding the hardware items we need and starting the process.

Hopefully it will be fixed by Monday so I can get something done.

Jackie!!

Just a quick update on Jackie. He is doing much better. Healing more and more everyday. The doctor said he can now drive so look out Franklin he is back on the road. I just hope he takes it easy and lets his body heal. I am so glad I am going to Virginia in March. It will be nice to see everyone.

Monday review of weekend!!

I am off on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I enjoyed my Thursday off doing Laundry and cleaning house.

Friday I met Alexi at her house and we checked out the Vista area and went to a movie. We saw "Wedding Wars". It was a very entertaining girls movie. We could have waited for it to come out at the video store but it isn't the same as having a girls day and going to the movies. Lunch at "Rubio's"

Saturday I finally got the Christmas stuff all back into the barn. It had been in my garage for a few weeks ready to go. I finished cleaning house and Gary came around 3:00 p.m. We had dinner at "The Garden Center" It was great!!! The food is always good there.

Sunday we went to visit my friend Rudene in Vista and to get an idea of the area. It was a beautiful day. We had lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Our friends the Cavanaugh's came up from Irvine. Gary left around 3:00 P.M. I loved having him up for overnight. The time went very fast.

That was my weekend. Not to exciting but I got a lot done.

Our blogger lunch has taken on a new dimension. I am so excited for the response. We will be in Newport News for the weekend but We could just as easy meet in Franklin Virginia if that would be closer for some of you. I have a real hard time with the geography of the area.

Blogger Luncheon!!!

Welcome all blogger friends.

As most of you know we are going to the SDV Dream Events Weekend in Newport News, Virginia from March 20 - 22nd. I would like to meet my blogger friends for lunch at a local restaurant location to be determined on Saturday March 21st.

My word for the year!!!

I always have a hard time picking a word for the year. It usually ends up being a saying. It wasn't too hard to figure out what I was going to do this year. The hard part for me was figuring out how I was going to express my feelings about my word.

If you haven't figured it out by now my word or Motto is:

"The Dash ......... is what counts"

This to me means the time between birth and death. The Dash.

Birth.....................Death
4/27/59 .............??????

The definition in the dictionary says:

3. a short line (-) used to separate words
The time in between.

The dash is what you do with your life. What will people remember about you when you are gone? How have you made this world a better place? Have you really enjoyed life? What have you done for others? How do you give back? How can you be a better parent, sister, mother, friend, wife?

I have lost some loved ones this last few years and once someone is gone you always think back about that person and what they have meant to you. I always wish I had spent more time with them or just appreciated them more and especially I always wish i would have told them more how I felt. We will never know when we will loose someone we care about. So now is the time to say you care and let people know how you feel.

And the most important thing to me is to make sure we are giving back and making this world a better place to be.

When you are feeling sorry for your self just remember that there is always some one else out there that is going through something way worst than you. I am thankful every day for what I have and the people in my life.

So for the next year I will be focused on The Dash. And how I can make my dash great!!!!

Nature Walk!!

Here are a few pictures of a nature hike we went on.
This is in squirrel village.  You can see the squirrel hole on the left. A squirrel must have found an avocado and put it by their hole so they could eat it.

This is our old mailbox.  We share with Ken & Syndi.
I love this tree.  Look at how big it is!!!  That is Pete walking down by the road.
This dirt is where the new mailboxes are going.  They will be beautiful.
This was taken down by the pond.  I think this will have to be my next Header.  Isn't it amazing.

Toda!!!

Zach was gone to Irvine for a few days and I was taking care of Toda. She is such a sweet cat. She sure loves Zach.

This is her favorite place to sleep.

The Pond!!

Matez has been working on the pond area for the last two weeks. When we got the last big rain it got clogged up. These two big trees had to be removed and he is still working on the roots.
This is where Maverick is buried.  He was our first cat that got smashed in the garage door.  We say Hi to him every time we drive by.


With the trees gone it gives in so much more light.  Now we just have to take care of the roots and build back up the road.
This is a beautiful area.
