Part 2 of the Wedding Anniversary!!

OK I can't figure out how to turn this photo.

This picture was taken in 1979. Pete and I had only been dating a maybe a year. I believe it was taken at Christmas time. It is one of my favorite pictures of us. I wanted to share.

Our Anniversary day turn out very nice. We went to work and had a really nice lunch in Orange County. We didn't get home until late so we just hung out and watched a movie. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. It is hard to do much during the week.

Alexi is getting her Wisdom teeth out today. So I will be taking care of here for the next few days. If she is feeling better tomorrow she might go home and Phil can take care of her. I am not sure how she will be feeling. Everyone is so different.

Happy Anniversary to Me!!

Today is my 25th Wedding Anniversary. It has been a wonderful 25 years and I hope for many more with my amazing husband.

My daughter sent us a beautiful Anniversary card. It was great to hear her prospective of our marriage. I just hope my children find someone they can spend the rest of their lives with like I did.

We are working today so it will be a quiet evening.

I had problems with my site so I will post more later.

Earth Quake!!

Yes we had an Earth Quake. The center was about 45 minutes away from my office. It was a good shake and a bit scary. It is always more of a shock than anything. No damage here and everyone is OK. If you would like more of the technical details check out Gary's blog spot. http://threescoreplusten.blogspot.com/ He is much more detailed than I am.

Just another beautiful day in Southern California.

Fallbrook Hot Summer Nights!!

This was a fun event.  Our town does what they call Hot Summer Nights.  They have a band and this time it was a food tasting.  The local restaurants provide a tasting of food.  It was a fun time and good food as well.  I love our little town.  Coming from Orange County California this is quite a different experience.  They will have two more in August.  Different things each time.

Japense Culture

My girlfriend Jeanine gave me this book when we were in Mexico a few weeks ago.  I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading it.  It is a book based on the Japanese culture and traditions of the old days. They still did foot binding then and married off the girls to other families. All the boys and their families lived with their main families.  The girls only came to their natal families on rare occasions.  It was a very interesting book and I would recommend reading it.  My copy will of course get passed around.

I am very funny about my books.  I don't mind lending them out.  But I need them back as soon as possible.  I like to own books.  Not quite sure what that is all about, but I am sure there is something there from my childhood.  Not a bad thing to want to own books. LOL

Blog Titles!

Saturday Post!!

Gary I did something to my blog and I don't have titles anymore. I can't seem to figure out how to change it back. As soon as I figure it out I will fix my Blog so I have titles again, Even though they would be as catchy as yours. I did like having them there. I am trying to get over not having pictures to post every time. I most always have something to say just no pictures to go with it. I am trying to evolve as a blogger. LOL

On another note. I don't want to rub it in or anything but it has been beautiful here. The temperature has been in the 80's. It is 6:45 A.M. and it 76'. Pete just left to play golf at Pala Mesa Golf course here in town and then he is off for the Horse Races. A friend of ours has club seats an he got invited to go as his guest. It is going to be a nice day for him.

I think I am going to work in my craft room all day long. Hopefully I will have somethings to share later on today. I did find some very cute fabric yesterday. I won't be able to get to the sewing until I finish some other projects first. Not enough hours in the day.

Have a great Saturday all!!

I FIXED THE TITLE PROBLEM GARY!!!!

Its Friday!!

I am off to Temecula for a shopping trip with Alexi. She is going to get her wisdom teeth pulled and has to go for a consultation in Temecula. I am going to meet her for lunch and some errands.

She has several friends that are having babies right now and we have decide to try to make a few baby rag quilts. The most important stop will be at Joanne's. I am hoping to find some material on sale over the next few weeks and make a few blankets. I haven't sewn in a few years so it should be interesting. I have a beautiful sewing machine and a embrodier machine.

I will keep you all post on my progress.

Have a great Friday!!!

I have been kinda of Blah the last few days. Not much to post about today but I am trying to put something up every day. Now that I have my reminder on the side that some people haven't blogged in a long time.

This is the best way to communicate with my family daily. You take for granted the everyday things like talks over morning coffee or just talking about what happened during your day, what you are making for dinner. The little things that we share are the best.

If any of your husbands are like mine he gets irritated when I talk on the phone. He says the talk makes no since. I am just talking about nothing. But I think that is what women do. Women have a different kind of bond with each other. Especially Mom's and Sisters.

I love checking my Blog to see who has posted. I love seeing what everyone is up to. I love all my friends that live in my Computer.

Have a great Thursday!!!

Some people really need to post. LOL You know who you are.

I got a phone call yesterday from my niece Kendra from New Hampshire. She is the one that was just here for a visit. She informed me that my brother Mike's girlfriend Stacy had passed away the day before. At the time she didn't have any details.

I spoke to my brother Mike last night and found out she was 39 years old and died from a heart attack. She had three children 22, 18, 16 years old. I believe also she has a grandchild.

This tragic event has made me really think. As women we need to be very aware of our bodies. Heart attack in women very often goes undetected.

It also made me think about this poem that my sister sent me last week. I know it has gone all around. It definitely is worth watching over and over again. Because in the end it really is about "The Dash".

Let's not forget about the Dash as we go through our every day lives. I know I won't.

We had a great time on Saturday at Carl's. It was very nice to see everyone. It is always nice to see the family. It was a beautiful day. I made Uncle Bob a scrapbook of some old pictures. I wasn't sure if he would like it. He wouldn't put it down. He kept asking everyone if they had seen it yet and had to go through every page with each person individually. I think he really liked it. Here is a picture of me and Uncle Bob. Not the greatest picture but it will have to do for now.

YUM!! YUM!!

Zuccini-Cheddar Bread

I made this bread on Saturday for Tish & Carl. There is nothing sweet about this bread. I think that is why I like it. here's the recipe:

1 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup butter
2 1/2 cups of Bisquick baking mox
2 tbls of Italian seasonings
1/4 cup of milk
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup of Zuchini shredded
1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese

Heat oven at 400
cook onions
mix all together
I used a round pie pan. The recipe calls for a 9 x 1 1/2 inch round pan.
Bake for 40 minutes

Let me know if you try this and what you think.

Here is my Wordle that I created. These are my words for the year. They sure have been coming at me full throttle. I am scared about what to pick for next year. When you write it down it becomes very powerful.

Here is the site: http://wordle.net/

Please take notice of the new way my favorite blog spots are listed.  I wasn't sure if I would like this idea or not.  It is cool the way the blog spots are sorted.  When someone post to their blog their name automatically goes to the top.

Now this works good for me because I spend so much time looking at some peoples blog spots and they don't post regularly.  This way Blogger will tell me when they post and I can go check it out.

I also have it set up to send me an e-mail when someone comments on one of my posts.  I love that as well.

I don't know what Wayne John will think of this method but I really like it for now.

Keep blogging friends.

Strong!!!

I have been thinking about my word "STRONG". I like the word site. Make sure you visit it. It surely makes you think. If you like words it is a great place to visit and get that brain thinking.

When I think of the word "STRONG" The only thing that keeps coming to my mind is my MOM.

She is the strongest person I know. I got all my strength from her. She was a single Mom and had to always fight hard for everything she had. Raising three girls on your own is no each task. Things weren't always easy for us as well as for her. But I always felt protected.

That is what the word "Strong " means to me.

My husband Pete's mom Agnes comes to mind when I think of the word "STRONG".  She passed away this September with Cancer.  Her battle only lasted 32 days but she really fought hard and was an amazingly strong person.  She has always been strong willed!! LOL  But I never realized her strength until she got sick. Once she got something in her mind it was very hard to get it out.  She over came all kinds of things in her life.  What a great lady she was.  I miss her daily.

As I am sitting here writing I have realized that I have a lot of strong women in my life.  My daughter recently wrote in her Mothers day blog that I was the strongest person she knows.  It all starts with the older generations.  What my daughter doesn't realize is that she is just like me and her grandmother's.

Here's to all women!!!  Keep being strong!!

Avi and Layla met for the first time. Avi could really care less about Layla. Layla is such a puppy still she just wants to play.

Avi is getting so big. She was really interested in Layla.
I can't wait to have Layla over again soon. She is such a good puppy.

I have found this new Blog site. They have a word every week that is put on the blog and you are suppose to create something using the word that is chose. The word a few weeks ago is "Strong" Here is what the blog said about the word.

Word Up #29: STRONG
Strong. What a powerful word.

This word has been repeated several times to me in the past several months from my blog readers so this word is for YOU.

I have struggled with what to write about this word for a little while because it is such an emotional word for me. Something I have learned is that being strong does not mean that you can not be weak and broken. That comes with trying to find strength. Strength the get through the day. Strength to move on and live.
I have learned that it is OK to be broken because through that brokenness you will heal and become strong. It's a character pruning process I think.

So we would love to know what comes to your mind when you hear the word STRONG.
Is it a personal reflection? Is it about a family member or friend? Or does it simply bring candid thoughts to your mind?

I will be letting you know what the word "Strong" means to me in the near future.

There just isn't enough hours in the day.

This was such a great movie!!

Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman are great together in this movie.  I think it was an all time high for Jack Nicholson.

This movie really made you think.  If you were going to kick the bucket?(A term the movie uses)  What would you put in your bucket list??

Let me know what you would put in your bucket list!!!

It is very powerful to write those things down.  You would be surprised how many really do come true.

Kendra's gone and I miss her already.  And now we are off to Mexico for the 4th of July.  We pick up our friends at 8:35 A.M. on Wednesday and thirty minutes later we will be at the coast line.

We have been doing this trip for the last 15 years.  Always on the 4th of July.  Alwasy with family and the same friends.  Some things have changed about the weekend but it is always a good time.

The whole Graykowski family comes down and goes with us.  This year no kids are coming. Which is OK.

The Van Dien's & Coffee's always come and stay with Ed.  They are not coming this year.  We will miss them lots.

Jayne Coffee has passed away and we also lost Donnie a long time resident of La Paloma. This is the hardest.  When you have tradition and the people aren't there it is hard to get past.

We will carry on and remember the past and make new memories.

Everyone is very excited this year.  I think we all need a vacation.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Good bye Kendra!! We will all miss you.

Alexi & Kendra

Zach & Kendra.

She has gone home. We sure loved having her here for two weeks. The kids are already planning the next trip. They have decided that she needs to come back in two years. I think that is a good goal. It took her a long time to get out here for the first time. I don't think it will be that long before she is back again. She is the sweetest kid and was a great house guest. I can't wait for her next visit.

Avi's new sleeping spot.  She was passed out under the T.V. not sure why she all of a sudden decided to sleep under here. She didn't even move when I took the picture.
