Wine Dinner!!

Dee & Brown some friends of ours in Mexico had a wine tasting dinner.  It was lots of fun.  We tasted five different kinds of wines and then rated them. This was taken during the actual tasting.

We tried to get the sunset.  mom got more she will post on her blog spot later.  We had a great time.  The weather was beautiful as usual.

Mexico

We have left for Mexico on Friday at around 10:00 am. We will be back on Sunday morning. We are then off to the Libbrecht's (Alexi's boyfriends parents) for a Labor Day Party. I will post some pictures soon!!

Casino night!!

Wednesday night Mom & I went to the Valley View Casino in Valley Center. We left Fallbrook in plenty of time to meet my friends. Well need less to say we got a little turned around and were late. After finally arriving we got there and had a wait 2 hours for the buffet. We gambled for a few hours only lost $20.00. We had a good time.

Spa day on Thursday. I will post about that later. Then I think we are going to go to Mexico. I will keep you posted.

Nature Walk!!

This tree was a volunteer.  A bird dropped a seed. An now we have this beautiful tree.
These flowers were growing out of rock.  Another volunteer.
These are a picture of the redwood trees we have on our property.  They are at least 25 years old.  Just beautiful.  It is hard to tell by the picture how beautiful it is.
This is a giant cob web. When we were walking it was early enough there was still dew on the ground.  I don't know what the problem is these days but we have lots of ants, scorpions,spiders etc.  They are coming out of the wood works.

I feel lucky today!!

I just found out this last weekend that a women that lived next door to me when my children were born was diagnosed with Liver & Pancreatic Cancer. She is a young women and has several children. I believe three of her children still live at home. We all know first hand that this type of cancer is very painful and going to be a tough one.

When my sister in-law Melanie e-mailed out this news she reminded us all that our family is very lucky. We have had some loss but for the size of our family we have been very lucky.

This information makes me very sad. I think we all need to take the time to thank God for all the good he does and be grateful for our health and what we do have. I know I will be thinking of Lannette and her family and saying a little prayer.

Vegetable's!!

Here are a few of the finished products of my vegetable garden this year. We have gotten a large amount of everything as usual. Why do they all come at once.

Happy Birthday mom!!

I do have the best Mom in the world!! I am very glad to have her here with me today on her Birthday. The kids are coming over and we are going to barbecue. And have a nice relaxing day!! I will post some pictures later.

Mom said this morning when she woke up that the only regret is that she probably won't feel this good in another 10 years. I just hope I look as good and feel as good when I am her age. She looks great!!!

Batman Movie!!

Last week we went to see the new Batman "The Dark Knight".  I was not impressed at all.  I was a batman fan.  I am not sure what it was about the movie that bothered me.  It was a very dark screen most of the time.  Things flashed in front of you and it was often hard to see what was going on.  A little to cruel and much killing for me.  And a little twisted at the end.  The worst part was in was about 15 minutes to long.  Did anyone else see this movie?  It was not my kind of movie to begin with.  I went because my husband wanted to go.

Joyce has arrived!!

Mom got here yesterday at 11:30. We didn't do anything but ride around on the land and get the mail. We went and saw Ken and the new raccoon cages. Had a big salad for dinner. We are very tired. We went to bed by 9:00. I watched a little Olympics and then was out.

Today we are meeting a friend for Coffee to drop off some avocado's. A little grocery shopping and laundry. The kids are coming tonight for dinner.

Tomorrow we are going to a friends house for dinner and Bingo at the club house by their house.

My Mom is coming today!!! Woo!! Hoo!! I am so excited. We have a busy schedule while she is here. 20 whole days. My sisters get her for 345 days a year I can settle for 20 days. This is the longest she has stayed before. It is a pretty busy schedule so I don't think it will be too long. She is even going to be here for her Birthday on Sunday.

I will try to keep up on the posting and even get her to post something everyday.

OOPS!

We had a little problem last week. The ceiling starting getting marks on it. The nails where showing through. Pete got up in the attic which is no easy task and looked all over. He could find anything. He wait another week and decided to look again. Then he found a small amount of water. We had a plumber come out and found the problem. Repair done and now I have a large whole in my ceiling. The middle hole is the one the plumber did.

The drywall guys made it this large. And started the repairs.  They have to come back on Monday to finish.  Then we just have to get it painted.  What a mess.
I do not like home repairs!!!

Fish Tank!!

Update on the Fish Tank. We moved the tank to the other side of the room.
It looks really good in this spot.
We got the plants.  Zach put them in the tank for us and Pete planted them when he came home.
Next we have to wait another week and then we can finally add fish!!  I can't wait for it to be done.  My Husband wants everything right so we don't loose any fish.

New Baby!!

Congratulations to Jeff & Amber!!!

They had a beautiful baby Boy last week. They get to have a do over!! They were married a few years ago and both have a boy from a previous marriage.



He is a beautiful Baby.  She had an easy delivery.

My daughter sent me these beautiful flowers.  Just because!!!  I took care of her when she had her wisdom teeth out.  They really are beautiful but very fragrant.

I had lots of sneezing attacks once they bloomed.

Best Friends!!!

These two really are best friends!! When Sergi is outside Avi will wander around the house and call for him. Right now I am just trying to keep them both safe. I can't lose another Cat!!

This is where I am sewing at.  I turned my scrap table around and now I can sew.  If I want to scrap I can still sit here and do what ever I want.  It now is just a little more versatile for all projects.  I love my craft room.

Here is a good close up of the cutting.  This takes the most time of all. Now I get to wash it.  That is my favorite part.

Here is the quilt sewn together and ready to be cut again and then washed.  These are really cute when they are done.  It is time consuming.

Olympics!!

I can't believe they are finally here. I loved the Opening Ceremony's. I recorded it and I am glad I did. I fell asleep half way through. What a great job they did. I am hoping Team U.S.A. does well. My favorite parts is when they tell some history about the athlete's. We have a beautiful big HD T.V. to watch it on.

I can't wait to see what is coming next. By the end I will be happy it is over so we can have regular T.V. back.
